Richard is an award-winning landscape architect with projects published by Landscape Architecture Aotearoa, Landscape Architecture New Zealand magazine and New Zealand House & Garden magazine.
Richard believes in meaningful design that connects us with each other and our environment. His passion is sustainable, regenerative landscape design that is in harmony with land and people.
He has been a guest speaker at the Architecture & Design Film Festival in Auckland, the Garden Design Society of New Zealand and the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects. In 2023 he was invited to be a guest lecturer for the BLA at Unitec in Auckland. He wrote and delivered a plants focussed studio (design paper) with the aim of creating a cultural shift in the way we live with our environment.
Most recently Richard has been invited to be the keynote speaker at the NZ Gardens Trust Conference in April 2025. His talk titled ‘A Changing Cultural Aesthetic’ will dive into the relationship between culture, land and gardens. Link to Conference
